🌟 Seventh Session – Mastering Behavioral Questions with STAR Technique

The final and seventh session of the PESE Lab marked a thoughtful culmination of everything we had learned over the previous weeks. This session focused on a very essential part of any professional interview — answering behavioral and situational questions, which assess our mindset, attitude, and problem-solving approach.

At the start of the session, our ma'am assigned us the task of preparing two behavioral or situational interview questions, and we were asked to answer them using the STAR technique — a structured approach to responding effectively. STAR stands for:

S – Situation: Set the context by explaining the background

T – Task: Describe your responsibility or the challenge faced.

A – Action: Talk about the steps you took to address the situation.

R – Result: Share the outcome or what you learned.

One by one, each student was asked to present their prepared responses. As we shared our answers, ma'am offered valuable feedback, helping us recognize what to remove, refine, or add to make our answers more impactful and to the point.

The session not only helped us improve our ability to think and respond in high-pressure scenarios, but it also taught us the importance of storytelling and reflection when answering such questions. By using real-life experiences, we were able to make our answers relatable and genuine.

To end this meaningful journey on a high note, we captured a beautiful moment — a group photograph with our entire class and ma'am. It was a memory that marked not just the end of the sessions, but the beginning of a more confident version of ourselves.
